1) la stesura del progetto utilizzando il software CAD di modellazione solida Solidworks;

A tale scopo si è adoperata principalmente una fresatrice a CNC della scuola;

3) la stampa 3D di alcuni particolari della macchina come gli elementi di azionamento dei finecorsa lungo gli assi X ed Y;

4) il cablaggio delle schede elettroniche PIBOT con tutti i dispositivi di azionamento quali motori a passo, l’elettro mandrino ed i finecorsa;

5)l’assemblaggio della macchina in officina;

BRIEF PRESENTATION IN ENGLISH

The 5th year students of Mechanical, Mechatronic and Energy course at the technical high school “Mattei” in Conselve (Padua) – a branch of the “Cattaneo” high school in Monselice since 2015-have built a CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) milling machine at school.

The project has been divided into different phases:

1) the design of a 3D drawing of the machine by using the CAD software called “Solidworks”.

2) the building of some components, either the plates for the connection or for the support of the step motors or the plates for the motion of the workpiece table along the X axis or the plates for the motion of the tool carriage along the Y Z axes. All these components have been manufactured thanks to a CNC milling machine which is in the machine tool laboratory at school.

3) the use of a 3D printer to make some specific components of the machine such as the elements which switch the endstops along the X and Y axes.

4) the wiring of the PIBOT electronic boards with the drive units such as the step motors, the electric spindle and the endstops.

5) the assembly of the machine in the school workshop.

6) the set-up of the program GRBL which controls the machine and operates with the software of the Arduino electronic board.

7) the set-up of the CAM EstlCAM in order to program the different machining to be performed generally on blanks of wood or plexiglass.
